About the federation
The Guyana Chess Federation is the governing body for chess in Guyana. We run the national championships, keep the ratings, train arbiters and select the teams that represent Guyana abroad.
Our mission
To develop chess in all ten regions of Guyana with rated championships, junior programmes and strong national teams.
The federation sanctions tournaments, publishes the rating list and selects national teams for the Chess Olympiad and youth events.
It is run by an elected council of volunteers. Clubs and schools affiliate to the federation, and players join as members.
Our vision
A Guyanese grandmaster, grown at home.
